Medes were Persians and the name Mede was the name of the regime not a race and Cyrus the great took over the regime via a coup not a war. Once he took over he changed the name from Mede to Achaemenid. Also Seljuks were Turco- persian from Kazakhstan not Mesopotamia. The most important regime was the Safavids who saved the Persian race and culture by making the Shia Persias official religion which put a huge difference between the Persians and the Arabs and stopped Persia from being assimilated by the Arabs the way the rest of the nations did. Cyrus the great made Persia a great empire and every persian love him and should love him but the Safavids are the unsung heroes who saved persia from destruction which was far more important.
